Parents who have not yet registered their children for school are being encouraged to do so next week.
Parents of children who'll be attending kindergarten at the Peel District School Board in the fall can register children for school from Aug. 29 to Sept. 2 at their neighbourhood school. Parents of high school students who need to register their teens are asked to call the school for registration details.
Parents must provide proof of age, proof of address in Peel and the child’s immunization and education records. In some cases, immigration documents may be needed.
, S- v: N, e0 D) ]Acceptable registration documents are:
• birth certificate, birth registration card or passport for proof of age
0 A# ^7 ]6 L/ F/ f3 J• purchase agreement, utility bills, bank statement or government-issued forms for proof of address
: H$ r& K3 l/ W9 h• yellow card or record from last country of residence, or Peel health form for immunization proof
• citizenship documentation, permanent resident card, or record of landing (IMM5292) for immigration status
• recent report cards and/or school leaving certificate (secondary students only) for education records
# r5 G, {' g* R2 ZFor general inquiries about immunization, the immunization schedule or to determine if a child’s record is up-to-date, parents can call Health Line Peel at 905-799-7700. An exemption form can be obtained if a child has not been immunized for medical reasons or because of a conflict of religion or conscience.
To find out which school their child is supposed to attend, parents can call 905-890-1010, ext. 2212.
