Parents who have not yet registered their children for school are being encouraged to do so next week.% G; ]3 Z8 J* {$ a* W
Parents of children who'll be attending kindergarten at the Peel District School Board in the fall can register children for school from Aug. 29 to Sept. 2 at their neighbourhood school. Parents of high school students who need to register their teens are asked to call the school for registration details.
/ p* A+ Y$ c ]# P! ~ @Parents must provide proof of age, proof of address in Peel and the child’s immunization and education records. In some cases, immigration documents may be needed.
" ~% ^( O5 L! v. w3 _* H5 WAcceptable registration documents are:
L1 I; m6 }6 W0 g2 x5 q• birth certificate, birth registration card or passport for proof of age
. |% ~8 T6 j! C• purchase agreement, utility bills, bank statement or government-issued forms for proof of address
# A! B/ Z+ g6 _& U# z. a• yellow card or record from last country of residence, or Peel health form for immunization proof1 s$ J y1 R4 S) w2 H7 v4 J
• citizenship documentation, permanent resident card, or record of landing (IMM5292) for immigration status: k% Z# s9 F3 ]% |8 Q' \1 z6 m
• recent report cards and/or school leaving certificate (secondary students only) for education records% `8 X e, z* S" @ ^
For general inquiries about immunization, the immunization schedule or to determine if a child’s record is up-to-date, parents can call Health Line Peel at 905-799-7700. An exemption form can be obtained if a child has not been immunized for medical reasons or because of a conflict of religion or conscience.
