Chinese mainland stops tariff exemptions on some Taiwan agricultural products

(ECNS) -- Chinese mainland on Wednesday announced to stop tariff exemptions on 34 agricultural products originating in Taiwan starting from September 25, 2024.

According to a statement released by the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council, the 34 agricultural products include fresh fruits, vegetables and aquatic products, and import tariffs on related agricultural products will be implemented in accordance with the current relevant provisions.

Bans, restrictions and other discriminatory measures imposed unilaterally by Taiwan on the export of mainland products have seriously hindered cross-Strait economic and trade cooperation, said the council.
